Business Development Manager – Temporary Security Solutions

Through the ASEL Risk Modelling methodology we create bespoke, integrated solutions designed for maximum operational impact and commercial value.

The Temporary Security Solutions Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth and market share for ASEL’s temporary security services across the UK and Europe. You will identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities, build long-term strategic customer relationships, and enhance the visibility and adoption of our temporary security portfolio, including event security, short-term guarding, rapid deployment solutions, surveillance systems, and scalable risk mitigation packages.

This role requires commercial acumen, strategic insight, industry knowledge, and a strong track record of consultative selling within complex customer environments.

 

Key Responsibilities 

Commercial Growth and Sales Leadership 

  • Own and exceed annual sales targets for Temporary Security Solutions, driving revenue, margin, and customer acquisition.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across corporate, public sector, and partnership channels.

  • Deliver a structured sales pipeline focused on sustainable, recurring revenue and strategic account expansion.

  • Manage full sales cycle from initial engagement and qualification through proposal, negotiation, contract award and performance review.

  • Translate complex, multi-component security solutions into clear, compelling commercial propositions aligned to customer needs and budgets.

Customer Engagement and Value Creation 

  • Lead consultative discussions with estate owners, event organisers, facilities directors and procurement leads to shape risk informed security solutions.

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with customers and stakeholders to position ASEL as a long-term partner.

  • Collaborate with customers to diagnose risk challenges, articulate value propositions, and support operational transition plans.

  • Deliver clear proposals, business cases, and commercial models that demonstrate the operational, financial, and risk reduction benefits of temporary security services.

Strategic Partnerships and Internal Collaboration 

  • Maintain and grow strategic industry partnerships with technology providers, integrators, and channel partners.

  • Work closely with marketing, commercial operations, service delivery, and risk modelling teams to refine offerings, pricing strategies, and go-to-market messaging.

  • Support marketing and communications activity by supplying case studies, success stories, and insights that amplify the Temporary Security Solutions proposition.

Operational and Commercial Alignment 

  • Provide detailed cost models, commercial terms and profitable contractual frameworks to support customer decisions.

  • Ensure all commercial activity complies with ASEL policies, regulatory requirements and ethical standards.

  • Act as a key ambassador for ASEL, representing the company professionally across customer sites, industry events, and sector forums.

 

Working Relationships 

  • Direct Reports: None

  • Internal: Sales, Marketing, Risk Services, Operations, Finance, Security Operations Centre

  • External: Clients across end user segments, partners, technical integrators, estates, and strategic stakeholders

 

Location & Travel Requirements 

This is a home-based national role with regular travel throughout the UK and Europe. Occasional overnight stays and attendance at events, client meetings and industry forums outside normal business hours are expected. Flexibility in working hours is essential.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

Essential 

  • Minimum 5 years’ successful performance in business development, key account management or consultative sales, ideally in security services, technology integration, risk services or related sectors.

  • Proven ability to close complex deals, negotiate contracts and manage end-to-end sales cycles.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with strong stakeholder engagement capability.

  • Commercial awareness with a clear understanding of revenue drivers, margin management and pipeline forecasting.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to manage competing priorities.

  • IT literate, confident with CRM systems and modern sales technology tools.

  • Strategic mindset with business foresight, a solutions focus and an outcomes-orientated approach.

Desirable 

  • Experience selling security services, temporary guarding, event security, or integrated technology solutions.

  • Familiarity with risk modelling, service bundles or subscription based commercial models.

  • History of building and maintaining high value customer relationships.

  • A full UK driving licence.
